Reliable
Computers certainly have received more than their fair share
of bad publicity when it comes to problems. The expectation
level of software is pretty low, thanks to poorly designed and
written programs that have proliferated our society. Remind
yourself how computer systems should work with OrderXpert. Take
comfort in knowing that your orders are where they are supposed
to be.
Proven: OrderXpert
made its debut in 2001 and has been continuously refined ever
since. Hundreds of millions of dollars of products have been
sold with very few problems. Not one of our customers has ever
switched from OrderXpert to another system, and we aim to keep
it that way.
Data backups: Make complete data backups at any time
using OrderXpert's backup module. Data is compressed and can be
saved to another computer, removable disk or flash drive.
Backups can be made at any time, regardless of whether or not
the system is in use.
Redundancy: each order is automatically saved as an
Adobe PDF file, so even if the entire database is deleted or
somehow corrupted, you can easily reprint all of the orders. We
are happy to report that to our knowledge this feature has only
been used once, after the orders were cleared from OrderXpert
and some questions arose later. Hopefully, you won't have to use
this feature at all, but at least you know it is there.
Data transmission checks: when an order is sent from
the scanner to the PC, it is an "all or nothing" deal. If for
any reason one line item doesn't get transmitted, the entire
order is not transmitted. Additionally, once an order is
successfully transmitted to the PC, it is removed from the
scanner, avoiding any chance of duplication. So you can be sure
that the orders are complete and not duplicated.
Wireless
networks: wireless networks are susceptible to interference
from other wireless networks, cordless telephones, and even
microwave ovens. There is enough stress in your showroom without
having to worry about the wireless network preventing you from
writing orders. OrderXpert was specifically designed to only use
the wireless network at certain times, primarily when you
transmit the order to the PC. The scanner does not need to
communicate across the wireless network each time you scan a
product, which would be impossible if the wireless network were
down or unreliable. All of the data is stored on the scanner
until the order is ready to be sent to the PC. If there is a
networking problem, a docking cradle attached to the PC can be
used. So no matter what the state of your wireless network, or
even if you don't have a wireless network, you can write and
process orders without any trouble.
