M.R. Williams, Inc. is a
wholesale food distributor located in Henderson, NC that services several
hundred convenience stores throughout NC and VA. They take a great deal of pride
in providing their customers the best service in the industry and are constantly
researching ways to improve the process of ordering and delivering products and
supplies. With the overwhelming success of the CTech21 ordering system for their
customers to use, the decision was made to create a new system for their sales
force to use. Sales personnel are responsible for
processing merchandise credits, placing orders,
selling products directly, and provide accounts
receivable information for multiple stores that they
service.

Prior to the SalesTech system, sales people created handwritten orders
and used a rudimentary scanner to create credits. The scanner was only able to
scan the M.R. Williams item number, even though the UPC is much easier to
locate. SalesTech now allows the UPC code of each product to be scanned,
both for orders and credits. Both orders and credits are now printed
immediately to a portable cordless printer, which allows the customers to be
left with a receipt of what was ordered or credited.
